Potomac River Basin Commission Seeks Executive Director

The Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin (ICPRB) is accepting applications until September 6 for the position of Executive Director.

ICPRB is an agency of the jurisdictions represented on the Commission, including MD, VA, WV, PA, and DC, and the federal government with a mission to enhance, protect and conserve the water and associated land resources of the Potomac River basin and its tributaries through regional and interstate cooperation.

The Executive Director is responsible for leading all aspects of the organization’s functions, including, but not limited to implementation of its goals and objectives, its employees, and financial and business activities.  The ED promotes ICPRB’s mission to other agencies/organizations through interactions with high level officials and leadership of other organizations.  Ability to find and negotiate with funding sources is critical.  Demonstrated strong leadership and managerial skills are required to lead this small organization.

Experience and knowledge of the state and federal legislative processes a plus.  Candidates should have a graduate degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the management of water or related resource programs.  Advanced degrees are highly desired.  Professional engineer registration is a plus.
