Third Water Lab Alliance Security Summit is Set for March 2012

EPA and the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) are cosponsoring the third Water Laboratory Alliance (WLA) Security Summit at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, TN on March 22-23, 2012.

The Summit is free and will actively engage a broad array of technical and leadership staff from the Water Sector and Emergency Response Sector to discuss water contamination laboratory response coordination and take part in a table top exercise that practices the WLA Response Plan (WLA-RP).  State drinking water program staff are encouraged to participate themselves and share this collaborative opportunity with their state lab colleagues.

As an added feature, APHL is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E.® Program.  Participants who successfully complete this program will be awarded 8.0 P.A.C.E.® contact hours. (Course Number 588-865-12).  Registration for the Summit is now open and a block of rooms has been set aside at the Gaylord Opryland-Nashville.  Go to http://www.wlasummit.com/ to register for the Summit and to reserve your hotel room.
