EPA Solicits Participant Nominations for the Farm, Ranch, and Rural Communities Committee (FRRCC)

The Farm, Ranch, and Rural Communities Committee (FRRCC) is an independent agricultural advisory group that frequently takes interest in water initiatives. The Committee is accepting nominations for new participants through March 15. ASDWA has attended FRRCC meetings in the past and believes that state participation in this committee could be beneficial.

The FRRCC is a Federal advisory committee chartered under the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). Its purpose is to provide “independent advice to the EPA Administrator on a broad range of environmental issues and policies that are of importance to agriculture and rural communities. Members serve as representatives from academia, industry (e.g., farm groups and allied industries), non-governmental organizations, and state, local, and tribal governments.” Members are appointed by the EPA Administrator for two-year terms. The Committee meets twice yearly. Travel and per diem allowances (where appropriate) can be provided based on need and applicable Federal travel regulations. Nominations are being accepted through March 15th. EPA’s Alicia Kaiser is the Designated Federal Officer for this Committee. Please email your nominations (using the subject line “Committee Nomination”) to her attention at Kaiser.Alicia@epa.gov.
