EPA Adds to Water Security Toolbox for Utilities

EPA’s Water Security Division has recently posted several fact sheets that complement the “Key Features of An Active and Effective Protective Program for Water and Wastewater Utilities.”  New information on available tools and resources such as “CyberSecurity 101” and Partnering Opportunities with the Food & Agriculture Sector join earlier efforts that include a self-assessment questionnaire on a utility’s preparedness, a message mapping tool for effective crisis communications, and a series of table top exercises to help utilities evaluate their response capabilities.  All of these fact sheets and tools can be viewed HERE.

Separately, the Water Security division has posted a case study titled “Key Features in Action:  Pima County Regional Water Reclamation Department” that documents how this wastewater utility has successfully incorporated the Key Features into their operation.  You may view this case study HERE.
