State Nutrient Reduction Report Released

The Association of Clean Water Administrators (ACWA) recently released a report that summarizes nutrient reduction programs and efforts in all 50 states and DC.

The report provides a high level summary of each state’s current approach to nutrient reduction.  It notes that nutrient reductions are being achieved by through a “rich mosaic of approaches that vary by state, pollutant of concern, sources, and collaborators.”  The report further observes that, “….at the heart of this effort [nutrient reduction] is the fact that the variety of nutrient reduction strategies employed by states is worthy of solid description and consideration as we collectively discuss comprehensive, integrated, and feasible nutrient reduction strategies.”

A PDF version of the the report, entitled “Nutrient Reduction Report 12-14-12”, may be accessed through ACWA’s home page (www.acwa-us.org).
