EPA Plans Agency-wide and Personal Furlough Days

To achieve the 8.2% budget reductions applied under the March 1 Sequester, EPA has announced that it will likely have an Agency-wide shutdown day on Friday, May 24 (Memorial Day weekend).  In addition, most employees will be required to take at least 32 hours of unpaid leave between April 21 and June 15.  The number of personal furlough days through the end of the fiscal year (September 30) have yet to be announced; however, two additional Agency-wide furlough days are tentatively planned for July 5 and August 30 (attached to July 4 and Labor Day holidays respectively).
