Free Webinar on HACCP for Building Water Systems

With all the current interest in Legionella and other hazards in building water systems, state drinking water staff may become involved in what were historically local building code issues.  Approaches to prevent waterborne disease outbreaks in these facilities extend beyond treatment, such as chlorine dioxide or copper–silver ionization, and often include Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).  NSF is offering a free webinar to discuss HACCP on December 10th from 2:00–3:00 ET.  NSF’s course description is included below.

Course Description – HACCP for Building Water Systems:  Every year, tens of thousands of preventable injuries and deaths are caused by hazards from building water systems.  The human and financial costs are staggering.  Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) — a structured, systematic, cost-effective methodology best known for its successful use in food safety — has proven remarkably effective for preventing waterborne infection, such as Legionnaires’ Disease, and injuries, such as scalding, associated with building water systems.  Join us for a free, one-hour seminar on the who, how, why and what are (and are not) needed to use HACCP for building water systems.
