States Share Information on HABs and Cyanotoxins in Drinking Water

On December 19th, representatives from the states of Oregon, Ohio, California, and Oklahoma, as well as EPA and ASDWA, held an informal call to discuss state strategies for addressing drinking water system issues with Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) and their associated toxins.  The group is planning to seek some additional state participants to continue this discussion, on a regular basis, on specific topics including:  drinking water treatment optimization, sampling and analytical methods, health thresholds and public notification protocols, and source water protection.  For more information, and to let us know if you would like to participate in future calls, please contact Deirdre Mason of ASDWA at dmason@asdwa.org or 703-812-4775.
