New Hampshire is the First State to be Selected for New USDA Partnership Opportunity to Implement Forestry BMPs

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) and its drinking water program have formed a new partnership with USDA’s Forest Service (USFS) and Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).  This new partnership is designed to use approximately $1 million in funding (over a three year period) from the USDA’s Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), the Wildlife Habitat Incentive Program (WHIP), and the Farm and Ranch Lands Protection Program (FRPP) to implement conservation and forestry best management practices (BMPs) that improve water quality in two focused public water supply areas with private/public land ownership.
