House and Senate Approve Continuing Resolution

Earlier this week, both chambers of Congress agreed to a Continuing Resolution (CR) that will keep Federal Agency doors open after the end of this fiscal year (September 30th).  The CR will sustain government operations through December 11th at current funding levels.  This action allows Senate and House members to return to their states and districts to prepare for the November elections.  In fact, both chambers have adjourned, except for pro forma sessions, and are not expected to reconvene until November 12th.
