Another Successful ASDWA Annual Conference Held Last Week

ASDWA would like to extend a big “Thank You!” to all of the participants, speakers, exhibitors, and sponsors that made this year’s Annual Conference a great success.  The conference was held from October 20-23, 2014 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Over 220 attendees from 40 states, the Navajo Nation, Guam, EPA headquarters and Regions, technical assistance provider organizations, consulting firms, and equipment manufacturers attended.  Highlights from the conference included: a warm welcome from Ryan Flynn, the Secretary of New Mexico’s Environment Department; an overview of drinking water issues and activities during the State/EPA Roundtable, as well as from Peter Grevatt, the Director of EPA’s Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water during the opening plenary session; a keynote presentation about “The Chlorine Revolution,” by Mike McGuire; presentations about the WV chemical spill, a number of “Spills, Breaks, and Blooms,” that occurred in Ohio this last year, and water system efforts to address Naegleria fowleri in Louisiana; as well as many other great sessions and presentations on a variety of different drinking water related topics, and a state-EPA workshop on HACCP that was supported by the NSF.
