Available for Review: “Draft Impacts of Climate Change on Human Health in the US”

The April 7th Federal Register contained a Notice of Availability for public comment on the “Draft Impacts of Climate Change on Human Health in the United States.”  According to the FR Notice, “The purpose of this draft assessment is to provide a comprehensive, evidence-based, and, where possible, quantitative estimation of observed and projected climate change related health impacts in the United States. It is intended to inform public health officials, disaster response planners, multi-sector policy and decision makers, and other stakeholders about the risks that climate change presents to human health.”  EPA is publishing this document and soliciting comment on behalf of the United States Global Change Research Program.
You may view the Draft Impacts document at http://www.globalchange.gov/healthassessment.  Please note, however, that the download file is very large and the document includes nearly 400 pages of material.  So, you may want to view the materials online or download specific chapters.  This website also serves as the location for submitting public comments – and comments for this document are only being accepted electronically.  Comments are due to EPA by 5:00PM (eastern) on June 8, 2015.
