Resources for Improving Responses to Contamination Events: Webinar Announcement

Our colleagues at the WaterISAC are hosting a webinar on July 15th to highlight the various efforts being undertaken by EPA’s Water Laboratory Alliance. (WLA).  This webcast will feature presentations from Mike Koza, the Regulatory and Security Advisor for the Portland (Maine) Water District who will discuss findings from Portland’s participation in a WLA exercise and from Michael Goldberg, an ORISE Fellow with U.S. EPA who will present a new interactive tool for helping to access its resources.  This no cost event is open to all interested parties.

The WLA offers an integrated nationwide network of laboratories that provide water and wastewater utilities with the analytical capability and capacity to respond to intentional and unintentional contamination events involving chemical, biological, and radiochemical contaminants. Other resources included in the WLA program are exercises and training opportunities to support laboratory preparedness; the Water Contaminant Information Tool (WCIT); and numerous guides pertaining to laboratory operations, methods, and technologies.  Here’s the pertinent information about the webinar.
