Flint Residents Seek $722 Million from EPA

Approximately 1,700 residents of Flint, Michigan have filed suit in District Court and are seeking class action status.  The basis of this lawsuit is that EPA failed to warn them about the dangers of lead in their drinking or take the appropriate steps to ensure that state and local government were adequately addressing the lead issues.  This lawsuit is one of several legal actions resulting from the lead contamination in Flint and all of the legal actions are expected to take several years to work their way through the legal system.
