Regulatory Reform is Government-Wide

Just one week ago, on February 24, President Trump signed another Executive Order that affects how Federal Agencies do business.  This Executive Order calls for each Federal Agency to establish a Regulatory Reform Task Force to “eliminate red tape.”  All agencies must evaluate existing regulations and identify candidates for repeal or modification.  Task Forces are required to report their findings and recommendations within 90 days.  The goal is to find ways to eliminate costly but unnecessary regulations.  Pointing to the last Administration, the White House press release noted that more than 3,000 new or revised regulations were finalized between January 2009 and January 2017.
