Job Opportunity: Virginia DOH Seeks New Office of Drinking Water Director

The Virginia Department of Health, Office of Drinking Water, is seeking a Chief Engineer and Engineering Advisor to the State Health Commissioner, through the Chief Deputy Commissioner for Public Health and Preparedness.  This position will function as the Office of Drinking Water Director on all matters involving drinking water throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.  The position is based in the Central (Richmond City) Office.  This position directs and manages five field offices.  Duties include establishing office policy and procedures, allocating resources, and evaluating operations.  This position oversees a staff of 115 and a budget of over $35 million in federal, state, and special funds.  This position is responsible for all engineering activities of the Office of Drinking Water to assure mitigation of drinking water problems and coordinates program activities for the purpose of implementing the state’s Public Water Supplies Law and the federal Safe Drinking Water Act, including the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.
