EPA Seeks Comments on Regulatory Reform Agenda

On April 13, EPA published a Federal Register Notice asking for comments on “Enforcing the Regulatory Reform Agenda,” per President Trump’s Executive Order (EO) 13777.  The EO also directs federal agencies to establish a Regulatory Reform Task Force to evaluate existing regulations and “make recommendations to the agency head regarding their repeal, replacement, or modification.”  EPA is asking for comments from the public to inform the Task Force’s evaluation of existing regulations and requests that commenters be as specific as possible, include any supporting data or other information such as cost information, provide a Federal Register (FR) or Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) citation when referencing a specific regulation, and provide specific suggestions regarding repeal, replacement or modification. Comments are due by May 15, 2017.
ASDWA will be developing comments on this notice, and also encourages States to submit their own comments directly to EPA.  EPA will also be conducting outreach on this same topic. Information about opportunities for engagement with the agency will be available on EPA’s website.
