ASDWA Submits Regulatory Review Comments

On Monday, May 15, ASDWA submitted regulatory review comments to EPA that detailed some potential regulatory revisions to consider as part of EPA’s effort comply with Executive Order 13777 “Enforcing the Regulatory Reform Agenda”.  ASDWA did not recommend the repeal of any drinking water regulations, and instead suggested some revisions such as using consistent units between the actual regulations and the Consumer Confidence Reports (CCRs).
EPA, along with all other Federal agencies, has established a Regulatory Reform Task Force that will consider all of the comments received and determine if any regulations can be repealed, replaced, or modified later this year.  Over 55,000 comments have been received by EPA, so clearly, any potential regulatory reform has garnered significant public interest.
