Naegleria fowleri Found in Two Water Systems in Louisiana

 During routine testing, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) found Naegleria fowleri in two water systems.  LDH has routinely tested for this amoeba since 2015 and asked the two water systems to convert to free chlorine for 60 days to kill any remaining amoeba.  LDH has also provide precautionary measures for the consumers, primary to avoid getting any water in their noses.
