Senate EPW Confirms the Nomination of David Ross for EPA Water AA

As part of an en bloc vote during the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee’s October 25 business meeting, the nomination of David Ross to become EPA’s Assistant Administrator for Water has been approved.  Other confirmations as part of that vote included Matthew Leopold to become EPA’s Assistant Administrator for the Office of General Counsel; Paul Trombino to be the Administrator for the Federal Highway Administration, and Jeffery Baram to serve as a member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Separate votes were taken for the nominations of Michael Dourson to serve as the Agency’s Assistant Administrator for the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention and William Wehrum as the Assistant Administrator for EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation.  Both candidates were confirmed along party lines despite scathing statements against their nominations from Committee Democrats.
The nominations now move to the Senate Floor for final confirmation.  No date has been offered as to when that action might take place.
