Michigan has a widespread problem with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) contamination. To address it, Governor Rick Snyder has signed Executive Directive 2017-4 to create a Michigan PFAS Action Response Team (MPART) and members of Congress have sent a letter to the EPA Administrator asking for help.
The MPART includes ten state agencies, along with local and federal agencies. “The team is tasked with enhancing cooperation and coordination (to identify, communicate, and address) the potential effects of PFAS in Michigan and protect public health.” For more information, view the press release and visit the Michigan PFAS Action Response Team website.
In addition, a group of bi-partisan members of Congress from Michigan have submitted a Letter-to-EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt asking for help to address the state’s widespread PFAS contamination problems.
