EPA Seeking Additional Input for Potential Revisions to the Lead and Copper Rule

Off

On December 14th, EPA released an Agency letter providing some details on the start of a new process to provide additional input for potential revisions to the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR). The start of the federalism consultation will be a meeting on January 8, 2018, from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm for association staff that represent elected state and local officials such as the National Governors’ Association and the U.S. Conference of Mayors. Other water associations such as ASDWA, AWWA, AMWA, NRWA, and APWA were also invited to attend this meeting. This meeting starts a 60-day clock for EPA to receive additional input for potential LCR revisions.
The ASDWA Board will develop detailed answers to the questions that will be presented at the January 8th meeting and will submit them to EPA in early March 2018.  ASDWA will keep its membership informed as we develop our input on these important revisions.
