EPA and Corps of Engineers Propose a Revised Definition of “Waters of the U.S.”

Last week, EPA and the Corps of Engineers signed a proposed rule for a revised definition of “Waters of the U.S.”. Not surprisingly, this proposal generated publicity on both sides, with groups such as Farm Bureau on one side and environmental advocacy groups on the other.

EPA’s website for this proposal contains several background documents for those that are interested in drilling further into the proposed regulation. One item to point out is that EPA will host a public webcast on Thursday, January 10, 2019, to explain key elements of the proposal. Registration is limited to 2,000 attendees, so if you are interested in learning more about the proposal, register here.
