EPA’s FY 20 Budget Request Out Mid-March

The White House Office of Management and Budget has announced that the FY 20 Administration’s Budget Request will be released in two parts. Part 1 is set to be released the week of March 11 and will include the President’s budget message and top priorities for the next fiscal year.

Part 2 will be released the following week (March 18).This is where we expect to find more details relating to EPA’s budget request figures. Part 2 materials will include detailed line item information for each Federal agency and will identify Administration funding priorities and explain proposed cuts to both mandatory and discretionary programs.  Nondefense spending is expected to be about 9% below FY 19 levels.

The statutory deadline for the release of the Federal budget was February 4.  The delay is being attributed to the partial government shutdown.
