FTC Releases License Portability Report
ASDWA is aware that the issue of reciprocity continues to be a challenge in drinking water. The Federal Trade Commission has released Options to Enhance Occupational License Portability, a report that describes state-by-state occupational licensing requirements. This report details the actions the health industry has taken to reduce this burden of multi-state licensing, which have involved the development of model laws and interstate compacts to improve license portability. As the water industry faces similar issues with providing service across state lines and meeting workforce needs, this report may be a useful resource when considering cross-state operator certification and adding new options to address workforce issues.
