DOD Releases Task Force Progress Report and Inventory Assessment

The Department of Defense (DOD) has released its PFAS Task Force Progress Report that summarizes its accomplishments since its establishment in July 2019 and its planned activities moving forward, including an inventory of 651 DOD and National Guard installations where they are performing an assessment of PFAS use and potential release. The progress report covers a variety of DOD activities including: the development of policy positions and reporting requirements to ensure a proactive and consistent approach to investigating and cleaning up PFAS; actions to address PFAS in drinking water using EPA’s health advisory level of 70 parts per trillion (ppt) as a guideline; and coordinating and collaborating with other Federal agencies and communicating to the public, Congress, and other stakeholders.
