Minnesota Releases Conceptual Plan for 3M PFAS Settlement

The State of Minnesota has released its Conceptual Drinking Water Supply Plan to spend $700 million from the 3M PFAS settlement to address contamination in the Twin Cities East Metropolitan Area. The plan includes three recommended options for the 14 impacted communities to ensure they have safe and sustainable drinking water into the future. The three recommendations propose different options for treatment thresholds and funding timelines to build new water systems, upgrade and install filtration systems, and pay for operation and maintenance for public water supplies and private wells. The state is taking public comments through December 10th to provide input on selecting the final option for the plan. For more information, visit the Minnesota website.
