GWPC Webinar on WaterSTAR – Water Data Management Solutions for States

On March 11 from 12-1:30 PM CT, the Ground Water Protection Council (GWPC) will present a free 90-minute webinar to discuss state water data management needs and provide an overview of the WaterSTAR data management tools; including the value added aspects of WaterSTAR for state agencies.

WaterSTAR features include:

  • An interactive map to allow users to quickly identify pertinent results and identify spatial patterns
  • Graphs to identify trends for individual wells or groups of wells (example: nitrates)
  • Ability to make comparisons of analyte concentrations to MCL to identify areas in need of increased management
  • Analytical results that can be uploaded electronically through either a user interface or bulk upload template. Data QA/QC can be handled by both automatic validation and review/approval by agency staff
  • WaterSTAR can accept and provide data to other databases such as EPA SDWIS (Safe Drinking Water Information System)
  • WaterSTAR can provide data to other databases such as the USGS NGWMN (National Ground Water Monitoring Network)

All of these features are designed to increase staff efficiency for agencies and visibility to the public.

This webinar will be limited to state agency representatives. Although any state agency may attend, the content will be specifically tailored to water divisions and employees.
