Source Water Collaborative Post-Wildfire Recovery and Drinking Water Webinar

On Monday, September 13th, 2021 from 3:00 – 4:00 pm (eastern time), the Source Water Collaborative (SWC) will host the second of two webinars focused on wildfire, and the last of six webinars in the Forestry Learning Exchange webinar series that highlights the connection between healthy forests and drinking water. Wildfire recovery can be a new and persistent challenge to water systems. During the webinar, perspectives and case studies from regional stakeholders, state, and local water utilities will be shared by the following speakers:

  • Mike Zupko, Executive Director, Wildland Fire Leadership Council
  • Kristen Hughes, Source Water Protection Specialist, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Water Quality Control Division
  • Karl Mortgenson, Watershed Restoration Manager, Eugene Water and Electric Board
  • Joan Carlson, National Watershed Program Leader, U.S. Forest Service (moderator)

Note: There will be a 30-minute Teams meeting discussion with the speakers immediately following the presentations from 4:00 – 4:30 pm ET (links will be provided in registration confirmation).
