Promote the 10th Anniversary of SepticSmart Week on September 19-23!

Celebrate and promote the 10^th anniversary of SepticSmart Week, which will take place September 19-23, 2022. SepticSmart Week is an annual homeowner awareness and education campaign that encourages proper septic system care and maintenance that can help protect groundwater sources of drinking water. The campaign has been successful for communities and local and state entities who have hosted septic socials, engagements at farmers markets and state capitols, generated radio announcements, and created printed banners. Join the campaign this year to kickoff the first-ever photo challenge, post on social media, sign proclamations, host events, and more.

• Photo Challenge: The photo challenge is open through September 16, 2022. For more information, view the announcement and submission guidelines and share the link with your networks.
• Social Media: View the 2022 MOU Partners Social Media Guide to develop social media messages and outreach materials that can be customized to best reach your audience, as well as tips and methods to track the information you share on your social media channels.
• Proclamations: Bring attention to the care and maintenance of septic systems by issuing a state or local government Proclamation. More information on signing proclamation is available here.
• Events: Consider host events and trainings that engage youth, college students, and communities.
