EPA PFAS Drinking Water Rule 60-Day Court Stay on Litigation Challenges
On February 7, 2025, the D.C. Circuit Court granted EPA a 60-day stay on the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA) litigation challenging the PFAS National Primary Drinking Water Rule (NPDWR). The stay was granted in response to an EPA motion filed on the same day to allow the Trump administration time to review and consider making changes to the April 2024 PFAS NPDWR that sets limits for six PFAS. The court abeyance order directs EPA (as the respondents in the legal petition), “to file motions to govern future proceedings by April 8, 2025.” For more information, view the EPA Court Request and Court Abeyance Order.
