The Deputy Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing the division’s operations and serves in a senior leadership role to support the Division Director through long-range strategic planning, displaying sound program and operational judgment. The position is also responsible for driving employee performance and development, employee motivation, strategic program planning, budget management, and developing and maintaining a culture of Lean Continuous Improvement.

Deputy Director of Operations for the Office of Drinking Water

Reporting to the Director of the Office of Drinking Water (ODW), the Deputy Director of Operations provides leadership and direction for ODW operations and participates in department-wide strategic planning and performance management efforts.  The main purpose of this position is to lead the Operations Team as they carry out the safe drinking water program, so that about 5.75 million Washington residents who get their drinking water from more than 17,000 regulated public water systems have safe and reliable drinking water no matter where in the state they live, work, and play.
