Congress Passes Continuing Resolution Funding the Federal Government until March
On January 18, both the House and Senate voted to approve a funding bill, averting a partial federal government shutdown set to start Friday at midnight. The continuing resolution passed the Senate by 77-18, followed by the House vote of 314-108. The bill again utilizes two deadlines for different agencies. Some federal agencies are funded until March 1; others are funded until March 8. The bill now goes to the President’s desk, which his administration has said he will sign on Friday.
