EPA Analytical Method 1633 Now Published to Test for 40 PFAS in Other Media

EPA’s Office of Water and the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program have published Method 1633 to test for PFAS by LC-MS/MS. The method can now be used by laboratories, regulatory authorities, and others for analysis of 40 PFAS compounds in wastewater, surface water, groundwater, soil, biosolids, sediment, landfill leachate, and fish tissue, including National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits under the Clean Water Act. EPA encourages the use of the method, with the understanding that it may undergo revision during a rulemaking process. For more information, visit EPA’s website.
