ASDWA Statement on COVID-19 for Member Meeting Participants

On Friday, March 13th, the Board of Directors for Association of State Drinking Water Administrators (ASDWA) met via conference call and decided to cancel ASDWA’s 2020 Member Meeting that was scheduled for March 23-25, 2020. ASDWA’s members and staff had been closely monitoring developments related to the COVID-19 outbreak and the potential impact on our meeting. This decision was made after a thorough review of several factors impacting the event, including the growing number of travel restrictions that have forced a significant portion of our members and speakers to cancel their participation.

The health and safety of our meeting attendees and communities they serve are ASDWA’s highest priorities. The ASDWA Board felt that the decision to cancel meeting is the most prudent to safeguard our meeting participants from further potential exposure to the coronavirus. We ask that you please cancel your hotel reservations as soon as possible, and if you were planning on travelling to our meeting, then make the appropriate arrangements for your airline tickets.

If you were scheduled to speak or present at the meeting, your session organizer will be in touch to discuss moving your session to a webinar format or to the ASDWA Annual Conference in Scottsdale in October.
