Plan Now to Attend ASDWA’s 2012 Annual Conference

This year’s conference is being held October 15-18, 2012 in Little Rock, Arkansas. The meeting will feature updates and presentations on the full range of cutting edge topics of interest to state drinking water program administrators and their staffs. A detailed draft of the agenda is available HERE, but the general layout of the conference will be as follows:

October 14: ASDWA Board Meeting (open to all administrators)
October 15: State-EPA Roundtable; ASDWA committees
October 16: Morning plenary session; concurrent sessions in the afternoon
October 17: Concurrent sessions all day
October 18: Concurrent early morning sessions; late morning plenary session; early afternoon Security workshop (see below)

  • Conference Location and Hotel Reservations: The Peabody Hotel (located at Three Statehouse Plaza in Little Rock, Arkansas 72201) is holding a block of guest rooms at the rate of $139.00 single or double occupancy.   • Security Workshop: This short course is designed to familiarize you with both ICS principles and your role in supporting incident management. This course is designed for senior officials, an executive level training. You will learn the basics of ICS and how it can be applied; the major responsibilities of an Executive/Senior Official as related to an incident; the differences between on-incident ICS organizations and activities accomplished by Emergency Operations Centers, Area Commands, and multiagency coordination systems; and the types of agency policies and guidelines that influence management of incident or event activities.

Optional Event: Tour & Dinner at Clinton Library Presidential Library

Date & Time: Wednesday, October 17, 2012; 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.

    • 6:30-7:30 p.m.: Tour of Library for ASDWA Conference Attendees/Reception
    • 7:30-9:00 p.m.: Buffet Dinner (Italian food offerings)

Location & Logistics: Library is approximately a 15-minute walk from Peabody Hotel; attendees may also take a trolley
Cost & Registration: $20 for tour and dinner; limited to first 100 registrants
