EPA Holds Webinar on New Stormwater Climate Tool

On February 25th, EPA’s Office of Research and Development held a webinar on the new Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) Climate Adjustment Tool (CAT), as part of its monthly research webinar series.  ASDWA staff participated.  The CAT now integrates downscaled climate change scenarios into the SWMM, that has been in existence for many years.  This tool now allows users of SWMM to account for variability in climate projections and future prediction periods; and include seasonal adjustments of average temperature, evaporation and precipitation, as well as changes in extreme event rainfall.  However, the tool does not address changes in individual storm event magnitudes, durations, and frequencies.  For more information, visit EPA’s web site HERE.
