Medium-Pressure UV Low-Wavelength Issue Webcast

A webcast for Water Research Foundation project 4376 (Guidance Document for Testing Medium Pressure UV Inactivation of Viruses and Cryptosporidium) has been scheduled for June 23, 2015, 12:00–1:00 p.m. Pacific Time (3:00-4:00 p.m. Eastern).  In addition to WaterRF subscribers, it is open to states and the public. The registration for this webcast is now open. Please use this link to register: http://www.waterrf.org/resources/webcasts/pages/PublicWebcasts-detail.aspx?ItemID=44.
Project 4376 examined issues related to validation of medium pressure UV where at low wavelengths the inactivation of Cryptosporidium did not exactly match the surrogates used for validation, potentially leading to overestimation of crypto inactivation.  This project is in support of work on this issue by a joint committee sponsored by AWWA and the International UV Association (IUVA).  Besides quantifying the extent of the problem, the project also explored ways to address these issues in future validations and in existing applications.  State will be especially interested in these recommendations.  The report from WaterRF should also be published by the time of the webinar.
