Water Associations Join ASDWA in Supporting PWSS Funding

On April 25, a joint letter was sent to the Chairs and Ranking Members of the House and Senate Appropriations Committee supporting funding for the Public Water Supply Supervision (PWSS) program.  This letter was signed by the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA), the National Association of Water Companies (NAWC), and ASDWA.  This letter details how the funding for state drinking water programs assists water systems and is an essential component to public health protection.
The Federal funding process for both the balance of FY ’17 and FY ’18 is going to arduous and contentious.  PWSS funding, as well as other categorical grants to states for many environmental programs, is “at risk” and ASDWA is going to diligently work to protect this funding as best as can be done.
