CA Publishes Maps and Protocols for Algal Blooms in Recreational Waters

The state of California has moved into mapping water quality issues in a big way (see an earlier blog post on maps for lead testing results in schools). California recently published an interactive map of its pre-July 4th assessment of recreational waterbodies that shows color-coded advisory levels for the waterbodies. California’s guidelines for cyanotoxins in recreational inland waters details how the different advisory levels were determined and provides a helpful decision-tree flowchart.
