City of Salem Water Advisories After-Action Report Released

Due to the presence of cyanotoxins in its drinking water, the City of Salem, Oregon issued two water advisories between May 29th and July 3rd of 2018. As is the case with any such advisory, multiple agencies from the City, County, and State were involved in the response and the return to normal water system operations

After the advisories, the City hired The Novak Consulting Group in July 2018 to conduct an after-action assessment and the final report was recently released. The assessment was thorough and the final report details what worked well, what did not work well, critical lessons learned and future actions. The report itself is only 21 pages and it’s a worthwhile read.
