EPA Releases Draft Water Reuse Action Plan for Public Comment

Earlier this week, EPA released its Draft Water Reuse Action Plan for public comment. Comments are due by July 1, 2019. After the public comment period, EPA will digest the comments that the Agency receives, revise the Action Plan as appropriate, and release the Action Plan at the 34th Annual WateReuse Symposium in San Diego in early September.

ASDWA provided some early input to EPA in January 2019, and has established a states-only Ad-Hoc Reuse Workgroup to develop its comments by EPA’s July 1st deadline. This Workgroup will likely continue to work on a variety of reuse issues as different types of water reuse continue to increase across the country – there are lots of technical and policy issues on reuse that need thoughtful consideration by the state regulators.
