Stopgap Funding Signed, Government Shutdown Averted

President Trump signed stopgap spending legislation early this morning to avert a government shutdown. The Senate approved the bill late Wednesday, which passed the House last week. The House and Senate will now try to complete work on the 12 annual appropriations bills for fiscal 2021 in November and December. The House has passed all 12 bills earlier this year; the Senate has not passed any appropriations bills for 2021 so far this year.
