ASDWA Submits Comments on EPA’s Revised Definition of WOTUS
On February 4, ASDWA submitted comments to EPA on the “Revised Definition of Water of the United States (WOTUS).” The comments are not specifically focused on the details of the WOTUS definition, but address the need to:
- Work with states as co-regulators to finalize the WOTUS definition, as well as subsequent rulemakings and implementation actions.
- Consider state costs and implementation timelines.
- Develop clear and detailed guidance that addresses site-specific conditions and regional approaches.
- Look more broadly and coordinate across EPA and Corps programs and use CWA-SDWA approaches to prevent contaminants from impacting drinking water sources and being transferred from one media to the other.
