EPA Water Workforce Grants Announcement

EPA has announced the availability of over $20 million in grant funding to support drinking water and wastewater workforce training and career opportunities. This Innovative Water Infrastructure Workforce Development Grant program was established by the 2018 America’s Water Infrastructure Act. It is aimed at increasing the skills and numbers of water utility workers to address continuing and expected water workforce shortages.

The grant program has six project areas that support collaboration among federal, state, and local governments and institutions of higher education, internship and apprentice programs, labor organizations, grade schools, and other community-based organizations to provide access to workforce opportunities and build career pipelines in the water sector.

Applications must be received by November 17, 2023. For more information, visit the EPA website.
