Training modules for Climate Resilience Evaluation and Awareness Tool Software Available

Training modules for EPA’s Climate Resilience Evaluation and Awareness Tool software are now available for viewing or download at  The Climate Resilience Evaluation and Awareness Tool (CREAT) software was developed under the Agency’s Climate Ready Water Utilities (CRWU) initiative. The mission of the CRWU initiative is to provide drinking water, wastewater, and storm water (water sector) utilities with the practical tools, training, and technical assistance needed to confront climate change by promoting a clear understanding of climate science and adaptation options.

CREAT assists water sector practitioners with integrating climate change into their normal utility functions through climate related risk assessment, resulting in improved and more effective utility management planning. With a better understanding of climate challenges, utilities can take the proactive steps needed for adapting to climate change impacts and increasing the overall resilience of their utility.

For more information on how to become “climate ready,” visit U.S. EPA’s CRWU website at There you can learn about the basic science behind climate change and how it impacts the water sector.  From the link above, you can also register and download CREAT to start a climate related risk assessment and begin the adaptation planning process.  If you have any questions or comments, please contact the CRWU initiative at Also, please share this information with any of your contacts that are interested in this information.
