US Water Alliance Release Report on Closing the Water Access Gap

The US Water Alliance, in partnership with Dig Deep, has released a report: “Closing the Water Access Gap in the United States – A National Action Plan “. The report presents qualitative and quantitative analyses of water and sanitation access challenges, and showcases the promising approaches communities have developed to ensure that their residents can turn on the tap or flush the toilet without a second thought.

The report focuses on six areas:

  1. Central Valley of California
  2. Navajo Nation
  3. Texas Colonias
  4. Rural South (Mississippi and Alabama)
  5. Appalachia
  6. Puerto Rico

The report proposes an ambitious four-step action plan:

  1. Reimagine the solution
  2. Deploy resources strategically
  3. Build community power
  4. Foster creative collaboration
