Addressing Cybersecurity Vulnerabilities Facing Our Nation’s Physical Infrastructure

The Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works announced it will hold a hearing on Wednesday, July 21, at 10:00 AM ET to examine the potential cybersecurity threats currently facing our nation’s infrastructure.

Cybersecurity has been growing in importance for the water sector over the past decade, with heightened interest in the first half of 2021 given recent intrusion events in Florida and Kansas. EPA is in the process discussing and debating how to improve cybersecurity in the water sector, and states will play a key role in that effort.
