Register for EPA’s August MDBP Stakeholder Engagement

Registration for EPA’s August 2021 virtual public meeting on potential revisions of the Microbial and Disinfection Byproducts (MDBP) rules is now available: EPA MDBP Session Registration – August 2021.

This is one in a series of virtual public engagement sessions to solicit public input and information to inform potential regulatory revisions of eight National Primary Drinking Water Regulations (NPDWRs) included in the MDBP rules following the Six-Year Review 3. ASDWA submitted comments to the open docket in April; more information and a copy of the comments is available here. EPA has hosted three sessions so far, including:

  • Thursday, May 20 – Topic: Disinfectant Residual Levels and Opportunistic Pathogens (including Legionella)
  • Thursday, June 24 – Topic: Regulated and Unregulated Disinfection By-Products
  • Thursday, July 15 – Topic: Distribution System Issues/Tools and Finished Drinking Water Storage
