EPA and Army Announce Public Meetings and Request Recommendations on WOTUS

On August 4, EPA and the Army published a “Notice of Public Meetings Regarding ‘‘Waters of the United States (WOTUS)’’; Establishment of a Public Docket; Request for Recommendations” in the Federal Register. Five public meetings will be held from August 18-31, 2021, with the meeting on August 25 focused on small entities, and a possible sixth meeting on September 2. The agencies are interested in hearing from interested stakeholders on their perspectives for defining WOTUS and how to implement the definition during the meetings as well as in written comments with recommendations that are due by September 3, 2021. Ten future geographically disbursed roundtables are also being planned to provide for broad, transparent, regionally focused discussions with stakeholders.
